The IBPS Clerk 2025 notification is out officially with 10277 vacancies in the Customer Service Associate (CSA) post, which was recently renamed as the Clerk post. This recruitment will be done in the financial year 2026-27 under CRP CSA-XV, 15th edition of the Common Recruitment Process. The announcement was published on 31 st July 2025 and the online portal will accept applications between 1st August and 21st August 2025.

Eligible applicants are candidates who have satisfactorily completed a graduation degree and are aged between 20 and 28 years. There are two online tests, namely Preliminary and Main, as part of the selection process. Candidates can opt for the Main exam after they qualify in the Prelims.

The selection will be done on the basis of performance in the Main examination, choices made by the candidate and the vacancy available in the public sector banks.

Eleven banks will be participating at this recruitment which includes Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank, Punjab National Bank and so on. One of the bank exams that are so popular in India is IBPS Clerk, which is a good start-level examination that any candidate may be interested in entering the banking sector and having a good career. Latest Updates in IBPS Clerk Exam 2025

With the IBPS Clerk 2025 exam, there are some essential updates every candidate needs to be aware of before taking the exam. This is to ensure that the recruitment process is more open, efficient and up to date with the existing job positions.

1. New Name for the Post & Pay Structure Announced

The position known as Clerk has officially been changed to Customer Service Associate (CSA). In addition, IBPS has published the complete pay grid, again, the first of its kind. The initial pay is an entry level salary of 24,050 rupees and may increase over time to a maximum of 64,480 rupees with increments every year.

2. Local Language Proficiency is Now Mandatory

The applicants who apply in any state or union territory should be aware of the local language of that area. They must be capable of reading and writing, speaking and understanding it.

  • You need not take it in case you studied the local language in Class 10 or above.
  • Otherwise, you will still require completing a Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT) on clearing the mains.

3. Updated Mains Exam Pattern

The Mains exam has been replaced in a more relaxed and focused way.

  • A total of 190 questions has been changed to 155
  • The exam time is currently reduced to 120 minutes. Previously, it used to be 160 minutes.
  • Every section will be individually timed with each subject being given equal interest.

4. DigiLocker Integration

Another new feature is the opportunity to connect your DigiLocker account to upload materials such as Aadhaar and educational certificates. This will help to complete the process quicker, minimize errors and save time.

5. Edit Window After Registration

IBPS this year has introduced a separate edit window that opens after the registration expires. This implies that even in case you go wrong somewhere in your application, you will have an opportunity to rectify it in future. The official website shall announce the dates of edit.

Here are some easy but important things to keep in mind before getting started with your IBPS Clerk 2025 application process:

  1. The personal information including your name, date of birth, address, etc. should be the same as the official documents.
  2. Enclose a photograph, signature, impression of the left thumb, and a declaration in handwritten form to the size and format stated.
  3. Make sure you proofread everything before sending off the form to minimize errors.
  4. Each candidate can apply only once. Do not send more than one form. This can even lead to cancellation of your application.
